Hi! 안녕하세요! I’m Jieun, a native Korean speaker from South Korea.
I’m currently a graduate student at Seoul National University, studying in the field of education. I have experience teaching students of different ages through private tutoring and various educational activities, so teaching and communicating with students has always been a big part of my life.
I know that learning a new language can sometimes feel difficult or even intimidating. That’s why I want my classes to feel comfortable and encouraging. You don’t have to worry about making mistakes with me — we can talk, laugh, practice, and improve step by step!
As a native speaker living in Seoul, I can also help you learn Korean beyond textbooks. If you’re curious about expressions Koreans actually use, Korean culture, daily life, university life, travel, or even Korean slang, I’d be happy to talk about them with you.
I also love meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures, so I’m always excited to hear about my students’ lives and cultures too.
Whether you’re learning your first “안녕하세요” or you already speak Korean and simply need someone to practice with, you’re welcome in my class.
I hope I can be not only your Korean tutor, but also someone you feel comfortable speaking Korean with.

My lessons are focused on helping you actually speak and use Korean, rather than simply memorizing grammar and vocabulary. I first get to know your Korean level, goals, interests, and learning style, and then personalize each lesson to fit you.
How My Lessons Work
For beginners, we can start from the very basics, including Hangul, pronunciation, essential vocabulary, and simple sentence structures. You’ll practice using what you learn through easy conversations, so you can gradually become more comfortable speaking Korean.
For intermediate and advanced learners, we can focus more on natural conversation and expressions that Koreans actually use in everyday life. We can talk about topics you enjoy, such as Korean culture, travel, university life, hobbies, K-content, or anything else you’re interested in. During our conversations, I’ll help correct unnatural expressions, grammar, and pronunciation in a friendly and comfortable way.
A typical lesson includes:
Review → New vocabulary & expressions → Conversation practice → Personalized feedback
However, there is no fixed format! I can adjust the lesson depending on your goals and what you want to improve.
Why Learn Korean With Me?
I’m a native Korean speaker currently studying in a graduate program in education at Seoul National University. I also have experience teaching students of different ages through private tutoring and educational activities.
Because of my teaching experience, I understand that everyone learns differently. Rather than using exactly the same lesson for every student, I adapt my explanations, materials, and activities to each learner.
Most importantly, I want my lessons to be a comfortable place where you don’t have to be afraid of making mistakes. Making mistakes is part of learning a language!
