Hi, I'm Mona — a native Korean speaker, art historian, and language educator based in London.
I hold a professional background spanning over a decade in Korea's cultural sector, where I designed and delivered educational programmes across 22 national museum exhibitions and trained more than 500 architects and design professionals in technical communication. I know how to explain complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and keep students genuinely engaged.
I'm currently completing my MA in History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia at SOAS, University of London — ranked as Europe's leading institution for Asian and African studies. Living and studying in London means I understand first-hand what it's like to navigate a new language and culture, and I bring that empathy directly into my teaching.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect language with culture. Korean isn't just grammar and vocabulary — it's a reflection of history, values, and social relationships. My background in Korean art history and museum education means every lesson comes with rich cultural context that helps you understand not just what Koreans say, but why.

Welcome! I'm a native Korean speaker currently pursuing my MA in History of Art and Archaeology of East Asia at SOAS, University of London — one of the world's leading institutions for Asian studies.
My approach to teaching Korean goes beyond grammar drills. Having trained over 500 architects and design professionals in Korea, I know how to break down complex concepts into clear, digestible steps tailored to each learner's pace and goals.
My teaching method:
Every lesson is built around YOU. In our first session, I assess your current level, learning style, and goals — whether that's conversational Korean for travel, K-drama comprehension, business Korean, or TOPIK exam preparation. From there, I design a personalised lesson plan combining vocabulary, grammar, real-life conversation practice, and cultural context.
What makes me different:
Most Korean tutors teach language alone. I bring Korean art, history, and culture into every lesson — giving you a richer, deeper understanding of why Koreans speak and think the way they do. Understanding culture is the fastest way to truly master a language.
Who I teach:
Complete beginners, intermediate learners, K-pop and K-drama fans wanting to understand lyrics and dialogue, professionals needing business Korean, and students preparing for TOPIK.
Lesson structure:
Each session (60 minutes) includes a warm-up conversation, focused grammar or vocabulary input, interactive practice, and a short cultural insight. Homework is optional but encouraged.
