I got to know KoUn through the Wise Woman discussion group, where she was one of our teaching assistants. She is a very gentle and thoughtful person, and her English is always clear and easy to understand.

During our discussions, she was very good at noticing the key points that non-native speakers might miss and explaining them clearly at the right time. I think this shows her empathy for language learners and her ability to understand what they need.

She also has a lot of cross-cultural experience and understands people from different backgrounds. I believe this would be a great advantage when teaching Korean to international students. From my experience with her, I think she would be a patient, supportive, and thoughtful Korean teacher.

KoUn and I met in college and have continued our friendship over the years. She is not only a kind and faithful friend, but also a devoted mother, wife, and engaged member of her community. She genuinely cares about the people around her and consistently looks for ways to connect with and support her neighbors.

KoUn’s multicultural upbringing and life experiences in Korea, Japan, and the United States have given her a unique and valuable perspective. Because of her experiences living across different cultures, she is able to connect easily with people from a variety of international backgrounds and make others feel welcomed and understood.

She is also a humble, approachable, and patient person-qualities that would serve her especially well as a teacher. KoUn has a particular heart for foreigners living in Korea and actively seeks opportunities to welcome and engage with her international neighbors. She enjoys sharing Korea’s rich history and culture with others and helping them feel more connected to the country and its people.

I believe KoUn would be a wonderful teacher for anyone interested in learning the Korean language and culture. Her warmth, humility, multicultural perspective, and genuine desire to connect with others would make her an exceptional and encouraging teacher.
