Hi, I’m Yena, a Korean-English bilingual student at Vanderbilt University. I use English every day in my university classes and enjoy helping Korean speakers become more comfortable using it themselves.
I understand that learning English can feel intimidating, especially when you’re worried about making mistakes. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and practicing at their own pace. I can help with everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and English for school or travel. When a phrase or grammar point is confusing, I can explain it in Korean and give you clear examples in English.
I’m patient, organized, and attentive to each student’s goals. I’ll listen carefully, adjust lessons to your level, and encourage you to use what you learn in real conversations. Whether you’re a beginner or want to strengthen your speaking skills, I’ll help you build confidence step by step in a friendly learning environment.

Hi! I’m Yena, a Korean-English bilingual student at Vanderbilt University. I make my lessons supportive, practical, and focused on what each student wants to achieve. We can work on everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or English for school and travel.
Before we begin, I’ll ask about your goals and experience so I can choose the right pace and activities. A typical lesson starts with a short review, moves into one main topic, and gives you plenty of time to practice through conversation, examples, and useful exercises. I’ll give clear, kind feedback and explain mistakes in a way that helps you improve without feeling nervous. Since I speak Korean and English, I can use Korean to clarify difficult points when helpful, while encouraging you to practice speaking English as much as possible.
My lessons are a good fit for Korean-speaking beginners and intermediate learners who want patient guidance and more confidence using English in real situations. We’ll adjust each lesson to your needs and build your skills step by step.
