소정은 책을 주제로 한 팟캐스트를 함께 들으며 인연을 맺은 친구입니다. 우리는 오랜 시간 책을 읽고 서로 이야기를 나누며 교류해왔고, 그 과정에서 소정의 실행력과 꼼꼼함에 깊은 인상을 받았습니다. 자연스럽게 더 오래 관계를 이어가고 싶다는 마음이 생겼고, 함께 공부하면서 많은 것을 배우게 되었습니다.

수업을 준비할 때도 학생의 수준과 관심사에 맞춰 매번 새롭게 구성하며, 한국 음식, 문화, 케이팝, 디저트 등 학생들이 좋아하는 주제를 자연스럽게 수업에 녹여냅니다. 소정과 함께 있을 때면 학생들이 관심 가질만한 것이 있으면 늘 사진을 찍어 공유하려는 모습이 인상 깊었고, 학생을 단순히 ‘가르치는 대상’이 아닌 ‘함께 나누는 사람’으로 대하는 태도가 인상적이었습니다.

저는 에이티즈의 팬인 '에이티니'인데, 소정 수업의 학생들 중에도 에이티니가 많다고 들었습니다. 저 또한 소정과 학생들에게 에이티즈에 관한 이야기나 정보를 전하며, 수업이 단지 학습을 위한 시간만이 아니라 친구처럼 소통할 수 있는 기회라는 것을 실감했습니다.

무엇보다도 소정이 가진 가장 큰 강점은 사람을 대하는 진심입니다. 수업 자료는 기본이고, 학생 한 사람 한 사람의 상황과 관심사에 맞춰 자료를 준비하며, 진행 속도도 유연하게 조절합니다. 이처럼 진정성 있게 다가가는 수업 방식은 소정을 믿고 수업을 듣는 가장 큰 이유이자 매력이라 생각합니다.

소정은 어떤 일이든 적극적으로 임하며, 배우는 것조차 즐거움으로 여깁니다. 튜터임에도 끊임없이 공부하고, 자신도 배우는 사람이라는 자세를 잃지 않죠. 저는 확신합니다. 소정과 함께하는 수업은 목표를 이루는 데 그치지 않고, 그 과정마저도 즐겁고 의미 있는 시간이 될 것입니다.

I first met Sojung through a podcast we both listened to, one that focused on books. Over time, we bonded through shared readings and conversations, and through that, I came to deeply admire her diligence and sense of initiative. I naturally wanted to continue our friendship, and as we studied together, I found myself learning a lot from her.

Sojung has always maintained a keen interest in learning new things while continuing her own studies. Now, seeing her thrive as a tutor is truly inspiring. Thanks to her, I was finally motivated to pick up a language I had been putting off for a long time. In fact, it’s not just her lessons, but her way of life that inspires those around her.

She carefully prepares each class to match the level and interests of her students. Whether it's Korean food, culture, K-pop, or desserts, she enjoys incorporating topics her students love. When we're together and come across something students might find interesting, she always takes photos to share with them later—her thoughtfulness is second nature.

I’m a fan of the K-pop group ATEEZ (an ATINY), and I’ve heard that many of Sojung’s students are fans too. Sharing information and fun stories about ATEEZ with Sojung and her students has taught me that language learning can feel less like a formal class and more like sharing time with a friend.

What makes Sojung stand out is the sincerity she brings to her interactions. While she makes good use of her teaching materials, she always adapts them to suit each student’s unique situation and interests, adjusting the pace and content accordingly. Her ability to build lessons around each individual’s needs is, in my opinion, her greatest strength and charm.

She is proactive, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoys motivating others. Even as a tutor, she continues to explore new subjects and finds joy in learning from her students as well. I have no doubt that anyone who learns with Sojung will not only reach their goals but also enjoy every step of the journey. As someone who’s been her close friend for a long time, I say this with complete confidence—Sojung is someone you can truly trust and grow with.
